2015: 78 Tarot– created an original piece interpreting the “Two of Cups” for the 78 Tarot Art Card Deck Project

2013-14 – TALL Program: Trained with Gateway to the Arts in Pittsburgh, PA to become a teaching artist

2013: August Wilson Center Fellowship – Inspired by musical and dance performances, these paintings were created and displayed during the museum’s 2013 programming season. This collection of paintings also marked my initiation into painting on a larger scale.

2012 – Jozart Center for the Arts: Volunteer Artist

2008 – New York Cares – Lead Mural Artist

I was responsible for designing a mural for the Crescent School in Bronx, New York. This project involved meetings with the school supervisors as well as the agency to develop this initial design, as well as set up the templates and drawings for the assistant artists to follow. Additionally, I was managed a team of approximately 50 painters who carried out my design. The volunteer opportunity rotates annually, and I still offer my services whenever possible.

Marlana Adele Vassar

Largely self-taught as an artist, Vassar's philosophy of balancing style and substance has attracted a diverse audience to her work. Using figures as the primary subjects, she weaves symbolism and surrealism throughout her art, creating images that are personal yet open to interpretation.
